Jecheon Jeongbangsa North Chungcheong Province South Korea
Jeongbangsa, located on a ridge of Sinseonbong (peak) on Geumsu Mountain, was founded by Buddhist monk Uisangdaesa, during the Silla Era, in 662. Jeongbangsa is a branch of Beopjusa located on Mount Songnisan and is well known among Buddhists. The temple offers a fantastic view of Chunpung Lake below that is said to calm and clear the mind. A unique feature is the mountain wall making up third of the roof of the temple, leaving a beautiful and powerful impression of nature. Geumsusan (silk embroidery mountain) is 1,1015m/3,330ft high. The mountain is also known as Minyeobong (beauty peak) because the mountain range, when seen from afar, is said to resemble a beautiful woman lying on her side.
