Dr. Wangin's Memorial Shrine is the birthplace of Wangin, a famous scholar of Baekje Kingdom (18 B.C.—A.D. 660). Dr. Wangin, a scholar, introduced the elements of Chinese culture to Japan beginning in 5 AD.

The memorial grounds have an eclectic mix of shrines, memorials, pavilions, museums and exhibit halls recognizing Dr. Wangin's contributions and interests.
