Cheongju - Early Printing Museum is the site of the printing of Jikji, the oldest existing book printed using movable metal type, in use 220 years before the Gutenberg movable type. The museum itself contains exhibits related to the art of printing through the ages.

Cheongju - Sangdang Mountain Fortress lies on the slopes of Mount Uam comprised of a 10-13 foot tall wall that stretches over 2.6 miles in circumference. The walls date to the 1716 restoration of the site.

Cheongju - Gyeryongsan is a mountain that lies at the meeting of the boundaries of several cities, including Gongju, Gyeryong, and Daejeon.

Buyeo - Busosan Fortress built in 538. Nakhwaam is a rocky cliff top overlooking a sheer drop to the river below. It was from this spot, in 660 AD, that 3,000 ladies of the court of King Uija jumped to their deaths rather than fall into the hands of the invading Silla and Chinese armies. A pavilion commemorating these ladies was erected on top of the cliff in 1929
